"To Represent Argentina": Julian Alvarez Justifies Lionel Messi's Mocking of Louis Van Gaal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The 2022 World Cup had plenty of great moments. However, Lionel Messi's celebration against the Netherlands may still be remembered by fans today.

The quarterfinals between Argentina and the Netherlands grew heated even before the players touched the field, with Dutch head coach Louis Van Gaal taking jabs at Lionel Messi.

Not backing down from the challenge, the Argentine demonstrated his class by scoring a fantastic goal against the opponents before giving dirt sheets something to talk about!

Following his goal, La Pulga sprinted all the way to the Dutch dugout, looking Van Gaal straight in the eyes and cupping his ears in celebration.

Despite La Pulga apologizing for his behavior and blaming himself for losing his cool in the heat of the moment, the celebration has grown into a cult phenomenon.

When asked to select his favorite goal-scoring celebration, Argentine star Julian Alvarez did not hesitate, putting Messi's celebration at the top of the list.

In an interview with Manchester City, Alvarez said, "If I had to pick one, Messi's 2022 World Cup celebration against the Netherlands."

" I believe he later admitted that he regretted doing it at the time, but at the time and in that match, that was how he felt about representing Argentina."
