Outlander’s Sam Heughan channels Batman, makes a heroic citizen's arrest on shoplifter

Stick that in the bagpipe. Outlander fans! Samuel Heughan , also known as the dashing Jamie Fraser, demonstrated that he is more than just a gorgeous face when he played Batman and became a real-life superhero.

While Jamie Fraser of Outlander may handle a claymore with elegance, it turns out that Sam Heughan, the man behind the tartan, has a history of heroic exploits off-screen.

Long before he donned the kilt, Sam took on the role of the Dark Knight in the touring production of Batman Live in 2012.

But this was not the stage where he fully demonstrated his crime-fighting abilities. Oh no, it was in an HMV store when he truly became a caped crusader!

A shoplifter attempted to steal some DVDs, but our valiant hero was having none of it. Heughan sprang into action, preventing the thief's escape and conducting a citizen's arrest that lasted 15 minutes!

Taking to social media, the Highlander heartthrob detailed the event, writing: "Browsing HMV. Thief attempts to steal DVDs. The bouncer stops him.

Thief decides to assault the bouncer. Then it's me. I threw him and then held him down. I left when the cops arrived. "Beat that status update!"

Claire has been held hostage to provide treatment for the sailors in the upcoming episode, which takes place on board this disease ship, the HMS Porpoise.
