NATIONAL CHIA DAY | March 23

National Chia Day honors the tiny, powerful chia seed, one of the world's most nutrient-rich foods.

Chia seeds, revered by the Maya and Aztecs for their healing abilities and natural energy, are now a global staple that may be used in many dishes and drinks.

Chia seeds, neutral in flavor, are high in Omega-3s, antioxidants, fiber, and complete protein and may be added to almost any recipe to increase nutrition.

Chia seeds provide power and vigor, so eat them now and every day.

Try chia granola, snacks, and drinks to start and fuel your day. Share chia-based recipes.

Celebrate every meal with chia! Use #NationalChiaDay on social media. History of National Chia Day.

Mamma Chia established National Chia Day in February 2016 to honor the strong seed.

The National Day Calendar® Registrar has approved this proclamation to be observed on March 23rd annually under the National Observances regulations.

The sprouts can be eaten instead of the seeds. Add chia sprouts to salads or sandwiches.
