Miss Teen USA resigns just two days after Miss USA: 'My personal values no longer fully align'

Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava is resigning from her position two days after Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt quit.

Srivastava, 17, announced her resignation in an Instagram post that was nearly identical to Voigt's, saying that her "personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organisation."

"After months of deliberation, I've decided to step down as Miss Teen USA 2023.

I am grateful for the encouragement I have received from my family, my state directors

my sister queens, and the people who have supported me since I won my state crown.

"I will always remember my time as Miss NJ Teen USA fondly, and the experience of representing my state as a first generation Mexican-Indian American at the national level was fulfilling in and of itself," she wrote.

Srivastava went on to say, "After considerable contemplation, I've chosen to retire since my personal principles no longer fully align with the organization's trajectory.

However, I will continue to advocate for education and inclusion through my multilingual children's book 'The White Jaguar' and the organisations with whom I have had the honour to work long before competing..."
