Jimmy Johnson, a Dallas Cowboys star, is "still kicking," honouring the late 49ers great.  

There was a lot of confusion following the passing of former San Francisco 49ers defensive back Jimmy Johnson on Thursday because some people confused the former UCLA standout for the legendary Jimmy Johnson who coached the Dallas Cowboys.  

The 80-year-old Hall of Famer utilised social media on Friday to reassure fans that he is "still kicking" in the wake of several news sites misidentifying him for the elder Johnson or using a picture of him  

"Jimmy Johnson, 49ers HOF DB, passed away at the age of 86.The Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honour member posted on Friday morning, "RIP..Jimmy Johnson HOF from Dallas Cowboys & FOX still kicking.  

After the news broke, one can only imagine how many calls and messages the family of the former Dallas coach received. For the Fox Sports analyst, though, everything is fine.  

Jimmy Johnson, a former defensive back with the San Francisco 49ers, passed away on Thursday at the age of 86.  

Johnson was selected sixth overall out of UCLA in the 1961 NFL Draft, and he spent his whole playing career with the 49ers from 1961 to 1976. Before retiring, he had 47 career interceptions and is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  

Johnson received four First-Team All-Pro and five Second-Team All-Pro designations. He was selected to the NFL's 1970s All-Decade team and was a five-time pro Bowler.   

The 49ers organisation retired his No. 37 jersey, and he was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame.He recorded 615 return yards, two defensive touchdowns, and 47 interceptions
