Ja Morant's 25-game NBA punishment, including his off-court scandals.

Ja Morant, the star player for the Memphis Grizzlies, has been suspended by the NBA for 25 games, or almost one-third of the upcoming season.

This is his second suspension of the year, and it happened after it seemed like he was carrying a gun in another video. This event bore similarities to the one that resulted in his initial eight-game suspension.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver issued a statement saying, "Ja Morant's decision to once again wield a firearm on social media is alarming and disconcerting given his similar conduct in March for which he was already suspended eight games."

Morant will have to pay $7.6 million for the punishment.

According to the players' union, the ban was "excessive and inappropriate." Some thought the punishment wasn't severe enough.

We examine the issues that have surrounded Morant and resulted in his suspension below.

Morant was suspended by the NBA for eight games without pay due to what they deemed to be "conduct detrimental to the league."

[She] said, ‘I want you to slander my name and drag me through the dirt,'" he said. "And the AI said, 'We can't do that.'"
